Nearing Iceberg

Sunset is coming while setting up camp in a cove on Lake Powell. Visits to Lake Powell always cause me to reflect on the Ancient Peoples who called this majestic maze of canyons and cliffs home so many years ago. As I watch sunsets and sunrises especially I think of the similar feelings of awe they must have experienced daily. I smile as I wonder what they would think of all this water filling their canyon home. Considering the desert lifestyle they led I tend to believe they too would have smiled at the thought of such an abundance of water.
